D52 Juniors Local Rules

This division plays by the LL Rule Book except as noted below. This is a Juniors division, with base paths set at 80' and pitching distance at 54'.

Game-Play Rules:

1. Mercy rule: 15 runs after 4 innings, 10 runs after 5 innings.

2. Regular season: roster (continuous) batting; Playoffs: Roster or Bat 9, manager's choice.

3. Regular season: Minimum play is 3 defensive innings (need not be consecutive); Playoffs: 6 defensive outs (consecutive) if Batting 9. 2 defensive innings (need not be consecutive) if Roster batting.

4. Pool players may not pitch, and must bat below all normal rostered players in the line up. We also encourage pool players to not play "key" defensive positions. Pool players should wear the hat of their rostered team.

5. Managers may only use pool players to bring their roster up to 10 players.

6. Games will play as long as each team has at least 7 players. If a team has less than 9, they will borrow players on defense only to play LF/RF. Borrowed players are chosen by the manager lending players and can vary from inning to inning. No penalty outs will be enforced on offense. If a team cannot supply 7 players they will forfiet and the other team will be declared winner. If both teams forfiet neither will be winner.Â

7. Weekday games have no time limit, except for those required by the city you are playing in. Weekend games will have no new inning start after 2 hours and 15 minutes.Â

During Pre-Season, the following additional rules are in effect:

8. No pitcher may throw more than 70 pitches per game. (Carry-over is permitted.)

9. Each pitcher will recieve one balk warning per game. A balk results in a dead ball. The second balk will be enforced.

Other Rules:

1. Upon a protest, a protest committee will be formed by D52 DA Tom Dolan.

2. Prior to game day, Managers should communicate and ensure the game is going to proceed (weather, etc). Home manager must inform D52 of any cancellations or changes.

3. Game results (score and pitch counts) must be posted to the Results page of this document the same day as the game.

4. D52 may suspend Managers for any rules violations.

5. Teams must supply D52 with rosters to be posted on this web site prior to their first game, and notify D52 of any roster changes.

6. Teams must post scores and pitch counts within 24 hours of the game ending.

6. Pool Players (call-ups) must be enrolled in your league in Juniors, Intermediate or Majors and be at least LL age 12.

Standings and Tie Breakers:

Tournament is seeded based on regular season standings. Standings are done by winning percentage (average).

Ties count for a half win for each team.

Pre-season games do not count in the standings.

Games unplayed due to forfiet by one team count with a score of 7-0.

Games unplayed due to acts of God do not factor into the standings.

If two or more teams have the same number of points at the end of the regular season, the tie is broken as follows:

1. Head to head points

2. Head to head runs allowed

3. Average runs allowed overall (excluding games unplayed)

4. Coin flip
